Based around one central modular synthesizer patch, Found is an EP concerned with what occurs when focusing on the same core musical movement from varying angles, to expand and interpret the same idea in different ways.
The original patch was written and performed as one continuous flowing piece that formed the apex of an hour-long live performance for modular and analog synthesizers. Following on from the live show, the original piece itself was then re-imagined into what became 2 separate parts, dividing the drifting arpeggiated spaces of Cast from the rhythmic drive and distortion of P-static, allowing each movement its own uniquely independent space and energy in time. As an extra aside, Overlain takes the essence of the previous two pieces and blurs them together into a hazy, almost memory like interpretation of the original performance.
All three pieces share an identical unchanged equipment setup and core melodic structure; however, each one differs notably from the next in terms of execution and performance, resulting in three heavily interrelated yet sufficiently independent works.
